Motherhood is a role that places us in a position of service. When we are in a constant position to meet the needs of others, it can go without notice if we lose ourselves in the process. Our need to care for ourselves is crucial for this journey that takes us through so many unexpected places.
Are you a mom who feels alone and depleted on this motherhood journey? Are the unexpected challenges making you feel weary and wondering what happened to the happily ever after that you expected as a mom? You are not alone!
I began this blog with the purpose of helping overwhelmed and stressed out moms balance their own self-care with the demands of motherhood.
I have come to learn that we will never be perfect in an imperfect world. Our will clashes with the independent wills of our beautiful tiny human beings. Our children are made up of a combination of DNA, a culmination of the generational legacy I have received and now live out, and they are also taking in everything in their environment as they develop.
Recognizing what you need for your own self-care does not mean that you love your children any less. In fact, it helps you love them even more.
This road does not come wrapped in perfect bows but in unraveled ways that sometimes unravel us. There are beautiful moments that fill us up but there are also a lot of hard moments that can leave us feeling empty.
Take the time to prioritize some self-care so you can be better equipped to serve the needs of those you have been entrusted with. If you’re not sure where to start, read more about why I started this blog.
